About Makelab:
Makelab is a fast-growing 3D printing service where precision, efficiency, and innovation intersect. We specialize in small-batch production and prototyping, working with clients across industries to bring their designs to life. As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a driven and hands-on Production Intern to support our fabrication and production processes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
This is not a passive internship—you’ll be rolling up your sleeves and working alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in fabrication, finishing, and production management. If you’re detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you. Key responsibilities include:
- Print Finishing & Assembly – Removing supports on FDM and SLA prints, sanding and assembling SLA prints to cosmetic perfection.
- Quality Assurance & Production Support – Assisting in initial and secondary QA checks, ensuring prints meet our standards.
- Machine Operation & Maintenance – Learning to prepare and operate printers for production runs, assisting in light machine repairs (e.g., clogs, nozzle changes).
- Production Scheduling & Workflow Management – Helping prioritize workloads across multiple orders with varying due dates.
- Technical Troubleshooting – Shadowing experienced technicians to diagnose and document machine issues.
- Process Improvement & Documentation – Supporting workflow optimizations and maintaining our MES system for tracking print jobs.
Who You Are:
- Detail-oriented and precise – You take pride in ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
- Technically curious – You’re eager to learn the intricacies of fabrication, 3D printing, and production workflows.
- Highly organized – You can manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Collaborative and communicative – You work well with a team and can effectively share workload updates.
- Problem-solver – You approach challenges with a solutions-driven mindset.
